In 1991, Mazda became the first Japanese automaker - and an only rotary-engine racer - to win the world's most demanding endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In the end, it came down to the reliability of the Wankel rotary engine that made up for the lack of speed against the mighty Jaguar and Mercedes competitors.
The unique conditions that enabled this surprising victory - along with a crowd-pleasing high-revving engine with F1-like noise - immediately elevated the 787B to racing legend status.
The orange and green diamond Renown livery makes for a pretty cool looking pair of socks, even if you first had to google "Wankel rotary engine" to get what all the fuss is about.
80% Combed Cotton, 17% Polyamide, 3% Elastane.
We use seamless knitting to create a sock with no stitches.
Wash inside out (40ºC/100ºF max). Do not tumble dry, iron, bleach or dry clean.
